Tips for Unexpected Winter Weather

December 28, 2021

If you’re like many Americans, you’ve been hit by a hefty dose of winter recently.

Even if you aren’t used to snowstorms, heavy rains, or bitterly cold temperatures, you should keep a few things in mind to either limit your chances of having a claim or reduce the damage from wintery risks:

  • Avoid side roads — If you have to drive, avoid side roads that may contain long-lasting ice or snow.
  • Be prepared — Keep blankets, jumper cables, and other supplies in your car in case of a breakdown.
  • Watch for cracks — Ice can widen existing cracks in your home or walkways, so make sure to use salt or clear it if possible.
  • Shovel for safety — Lawsuits still happen from accidents on ice in front of homes. Shovel your property to avoid an issue.

Being prepared and responsible can help you get through the winter blues. Stay warm, and let us know if we can help!
